about lazymanfood.com
Welcome to lazymanfood.com. I first thought of doing a site like this during my junior year of college. It’s now almost five years later and I’m finally starting to work on it.
The Lazy Man Food Philosophy
- Food does not have to take a long time or take a lot of work to be decent.
- Real men use tools to make life simpler.
- Cooking should not need fancy knife skills or expensive cookware.
- We can be lazy and still eat healthy.

You give me hope. I have been seriously dating a 57 year old man who still lives with his mother. (Unique circumstances following the death of his dad from Altzheimers complications.) They are Irish and neither of them can cook. They eat out or do burgers or canned/boxed meals. To explain to him that preparing simple foods is not complicated, more healthy and less financial waste is a guaranteed fight-starter. This past week both of them came down with the flu….instead of broiling something simple, easy on the tummy, he said he was taking her out to dinner. My reaction was dumbstruck to say the least. Yes, they are both lazy and, if and when we ever set up housekeeping together, this Sicilian is going to change the rules. By the way, he doesnt own a BBQ and never cooked on one. I know, I know, find someone else……oh, and he also thinks pizza is a can of tomato paste (undiluted) on an English muffin sprinkled with cheese and tossed in the broiler. I gagged over that one…..
